They were probably giving you the cold shoulder, and rightly so.
Yes, very true. It’s an interesting development choice all thing considered. It would be very easy to make the romance option a 100% fail if you already romanced someone previously, and I had chosen Piper and was expecting to be blocked when I pressed the button with Cait. Then I expected consequences for effing up and pressing said button. But nothing. Cait even asks Piper for a threesome, which even furthered my suspicions that this had not blown up in my face like I thought it would (and as it rightfully does in Mass Effect and The Witcher 3) when you make similar choices.
So yeah, I guess Bethesda was like, hey, it’s just a video game, so why the hell not? Dunno. It’s not like it would’ve required extra development if they just caused the option to fail. And given you can romance both men and women, I assume it’s possible to have a 7 person harem. I’m still not sure whether to block this on mod companions, or if I’m more or less bound by Bethesda’s precedent.
Anyways, what ended up happening was, with Cait I was just seeing if they game would allow it and the third gal I had no interest in romancing, I just wanted the extra XP perk.
No buts. You should stop right there. That would have been a dealbreaker, and that ring would have ended up where the sun doesn’t shine, and so would the groom.
Hahaha, it’s even worse. Although granted, Bethesda hitches you and gives you a kid before you even press any button to start. Spoilers:
